No Country For Old Mind-Sets

Standard

For anyone who doesn’t believe that social-media and social-networking sites are an ever evolving and substantial platform for individual or corporate branding, connecting, and expansion. I would encourage you to take a peek at some statistics I came across on a fellow blog site(Web Strategy) about how much time collectively the globe spends on these types of websites. The figures are both staggering in the sense that they demonstrate the acute extent to which these mediums are used but also how rapidly the online populace is expanding. So not only can you reach millions of people instantly but you can do it the world over.

Consequently, there is no time like the present to become an active participant in such a sphere of influence. Dispel any preconceived notions you have about how people use sites like Facebook or Twitter and develop or discover your own ways to capitalize with these tools. No matter how insignificant you think your thoughts or opinions are, the great american author Mark Twain once said, “Our opinions do not really blossom into fruition until we have expressed them to someone else.” Furthermore the internet offers a ludicrously comprehensive array of topics to offer up insights or even distinguish oneself as an authority in the field. The worst decision someone could make is not to get involved because if you’re not trying to connect then you won’t. It’s really that simple. Although it seems cliché, every connection you make really could be the one that changes your life.

So by starting this blog, a google+, LinkedIn, and so on, this is my attempt to connect with an otherwise currently faceless mass of internet users while still providing some benefit to those who already know me. For instance, in the about me section of this blog and every social networking site I am currently a member of, you can find a distinguished photo of me taking by Tony Contini Photography. A courtesy he actually provided to me after I contacted him on Facebook. Below is a link to his website and I would highly recommended him for any of your photographic needs.
